Anna Nagar, Chennai

About Anna Nagar, Chennai

Anna Nagar is a busy and big area of Chennai. It is in west Chennai and the areas to the west of Anna Nagar are some of the fastest developing parts of the city. It has always been a smart and affluent suburb, but more recently, in addition to being a popular residential area, Anna Nagar has also become a busy commercial and educational center.

Anna Nagar was developed by the Tamil Nadu Housing Board in the early 1970s following the World Trade Fair in the area in 1968. The board developed residential plots, apartments, commercial complexes, wide roads, school zones, bus terminus and large parks.

The roads in Anna Nagar are designed based on matrix structure; all the roads are laid parallel and perpendicular to each other. In addition, a standard naming nomenclature is followed. In Anna Nagar, 2nd, 4th and 6th Avenues run East-West and 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th Avenues run North South. Each road is interconnected with all the avenues.

Anna nagar tower is very famous. It is located in the Anna Nagar tower park, a large lung space in the heart of Anna Nagar. Its main entrance is from the 3rd Main Road. It is popular with morning walkers and joggers, and with families and young people in the evenings to play and relax. For a nominal fee one can climb to the top of the tower from where excellent views of the city can be seen. The tower and park are now being renovated and would have one of the better skating rinks in Chennai. Currently, it boasts of a good turnout of children who come in for practising their skills on roller skates. There is also a group of regulars who practice silambattam - an ancient Tamil martial art form - here. From the tower we can view the fully city.

The large arch in the southern part of Anna Nagar called the Anna Arch was built in the 1980s, when Anna Nagar still had areas of undeveloped land. The road from the arch leads to the Round Tana (round about) which is a major landmark and for all practical purposes, the centre of Anna Nagar. Other important landmarks include Chinthamani, Blue Star, 14 shops, Thirumangalam junction, Anna Nagar East, and Anna Nagar West bus depot.

Anna Nagar has a number of well established schools and colleges, places of worship, shopping areas with both independent shops and chain stores and numerous restaurants. 2009 also saw the opening of a McDonalds and a KFC outlet, both on the busy 2nd Avenue. There are all the facilities available in Anna Nagar.

About Egmore

About Egmore

Egmore is truly a busy place in Chennai. Government Museum (Chennai) founded in 1851 is located in Egmore. Egmore is served by the Chennai Egmore railway station.

Egmore is the called by the name of a pre-British era village situated on the northern banks of the River Coovum. Egmore first finds mention in the records of the British East India Company. It has been mentioned as one of the "three old towns", the others being Purasawalkam and Tondiarpet, which were purchased by the then Governor of Madras, Elihu Yale (1687-1692) from the Mughal Viceroy, Nawab Zulfiqar Khan and rented out to prospective tenants. It was not until 1720, that these towns were placed under the direct administration of the East India Company.

Despite the fact that Egmore had been a part of the East India Company's possessions since 1720, it was not until the "Golden age of British rule" stretching from 1858 to 1947 that Egmore witnessed some real growth. The Egmore Museum was one of the first notable monuments to be constructed here. The construction of this famous landmark was undertaken immediately after the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857.The Connemara Library was created as an annexure housing the Museum's vast book collection and became operational in 1896. Egmore, in 1796, was the site of the Military Male Orphan Asylum near Madras. This asylum was headed by Andrew Bell, who invented the Madras System for schooling there.

After Chennai Central, The Egmore railway station is the second most important in the state of Tamil Nadu after the Chennai Central Railway Station. It was constructed in 1908 and functioned as the headquarters of the now-defunct Madras and South Mahratta Railway till 1951.

Local Classifieds can generate more traffic

Classifieds can be great to generate free website traffic. Some of them rank really well with the search engines and most of them are free! I will show you in a few easy steps how easy it is to accelerate your traffic with this frequently overlooked traffic generating technique.

You can usually add your URL within your ad for most free classifieds. Some of the most popular ones that you can post on are: Usfreeads, Graigslist, adpost, adleaf, and some other good ones. Search for them on google and check their Page Rank with Google toolbar. Use high PR classifieds that are free and where you can insert html or link

The guidelines that you have to meet with free classifieds weekly posting service offers will vary. That means you may need to modify your ads to fit their specifications. You will also find that some of these providers only allow listings for certain categories. Take the time to find out what the policies are so that you can get the most benefit from what you place with them.

It is as a good idea to explore the different free classifieds weekly posting service offers out there. You will find some that are very popular and they are great to post with. However, you will have less competition with those that are smaller and get less traffic. You also want to place your ads with them because there will be less competition in your same category.

As a result, the people that do visit the site and need such information will be more likely to follow up with your business. The more you can spread out your classified ads online the better off you will be. The chances of you getting traffic from all the different directions is very good.

In the last few years people have said that free classified marketing is not what it used to be and I have also heard a lot of people say it doesn't work at all but I strongly disagree. In my opinion, the more free methods you use, the better off you will be no matter what they are. You've got your free safe list advertising, you've got your free link exchanges, you have your free article marketing and you've got
your free classifieds.

The time you spend getting your classified ads ready though is going to pay off huge dividends for you. There is no reason why you can't use this low cost method of advertising to your advantage. Make sure your ads are creative though so that they gain the attention of readers. You want them to have relevant information that will motivate them to find out more.

When I first started out online, free classified marketing was all I did and I made pretty fair money just doing that alone. Of course later on I started adding on more methods and began using the money for paid ads. Free classified advertising is also great to create what they call some seed money. That is money for you to be able to invest into your business like I did. So for anyone that is wondering about trying free classified advertising, I say do it. It has proven to work for many.

Neat up anything that is in need of a bit of a rub so that it shines like new - kid wipes or a soft cloth with normal household soap and water are a quick way of doing this. If your selected free classified posting service allows photographs, use a digital camera (borrow one if you don't have one) to take pics of each item including any damaged areas so that buyers can see them before agreeing to buy them.
